BACK BAY ASSOCIATION BOASTS NEW LOGO…THANKS TO ADAMS DESIGN

Boston, MA May 13, 2008 – The Back Bay Association (BBA), an advocate organization for the business community of that historic Boston neighborhood, has just introduced a new logo created by Adams Design.
The BBA represents local businesses, including retail stores, restaurants, hotels, and property owners in promoting the Back Bay and its unique business environment…but not many people think of the Back Bay as a unified commercial area, according to BBA executive director Meg Mainzer-Cohen.
“We feel as though, increasingly, the Back Bay needs to market itself collectively as a neighborhood instead of the Shops at Prudential doing their own things, Copley Place doing their own things and Newbury Street doing their own things,” Mainzer-Cohen told Donna Goodison of the Boston Herald.. “That’s why we asked Brenda Adams for help. She’s a branding expert, and because she lives in the Back Bay, she knows the area intimately.”
As a long-time resident of the Back Bay, Adams has been actively involved in neighborhood issues and organizations. “I know how much the BBA does” she said, “And I was glad to have an opportunity to help them brand this area as a multi-faceted destination.”
“There’s so much happening in the Back Bay—culture, cuisine, couture, and commerce.” A number of businesses, including Boston Properties, which owns the Shops at Prudential Center, will be adopting the new logo for use in their marketing. The BBA itself put the logo on its annual map and on its web site.
