About this project
Berman’s Fine Wine & Spirits is a fourth-generation neighborhood retailer known for expertise, service, and a carefully curated selection. While the store itself had evolved, the visual identity no longer reflected the level of sophistication customers experienced in person. The challenge was to honor the brand’s history while presenting it as contemporary, informed, and confident within a competitive specialty retail market.
The new identity centers on a fluid, expressive swirl inspired by the motion of a wine pour. Rather than leaning on vintage cues or ornamental references, the mark captures heritage through gesture and simplicity. The form suggests craft and movement while remaining clean and adaptable across applications.
A warm, textural palette and elegant serif typography establish a retail presence that feels knowledgeable without being formal. Clean layouts and considered spacing bring structure to packaging, signage, and in-store materials, reinforcing the sense of curation and expertise that defines the customer experience.
Across touchpoints, the system creates consistency and cohesion, aligning the visual language with the store’s reputation for service and selection. The identity reframes Berman’s not simply as a neighborhood shop, but as a destination defined by taste, trust, and generational knowledge.
