The Heritage On The Garden

A destination branding campaign for a luxury retail address in Boston’s Back Bay, sustained over more than a decade.

About this project

Heritage On The Garden occupies a full city block along Boylston Street in Boston’s Back Bay, directly across from the Public Garden. The building houses multiple high-end retailers, each with its own brand presence and independent marketing. For more than a decade, Adams Design has partnered with The Druker Company to shape and sustain the destination’s image advertising, wayfinding, and portal website.

The challenge was to promote the building as a singular luxury address rather than a collection of storefronts. The Druker Company sought to reinforce Heritage On The Garden as a curated shopping experience, ensuring that visitors understood this was the place to find premier retailers together in one location.

The tagline ‘Where great taste is always in style’ became the anchor. It positions the building as curator rather than tenant, suggesting discernment and continuity across seasons. The messaging elevates the collective experience of shopping at Heritage rather than spotlighting individual brands.

The illustration system at the heart of the campaign was conceived and created by Brenda Adams. Rather than relying on photography or tenant imagery, the system was built around the architecture itself. The building serves as the fixed visual anchor, framed by the trees and seasonal shifts of the Public Garden across the street. Figures, window displays, and wardrobe elements change with the seasons while the architecture remains constant. The result is a flexible, recognizable visual language that Adams Design has sustained and evolved for more than a decade without losing its coherence.

Across print, outdoor, signage, and digital placements, the system reinforces Heritage On The Garden as a lasting Back Bay destination defined by taste and location.

The campaign introduced a sustainable creative approach made seasonal by changing clothing, window displays, and views from the Public Garden across the street. Each year the system refreshes without requiring a new visual foundation.

Over more than a decade of campaigns, the identity has maintained relevance while evolving seasonally. By positioning the building as a curated retail destination rather than a collection of tenants, the work strengthened recognition, supported tenant value, and established Heritage On The Garden as a consistent presence within Boston’s luxury shopping landscape. The longevity of the partnership is itself a measure of the system’s success: a visual language flexible enough to evolve year after year without losing what makes it recognizable.
