About this project
Hileman Real Estate Companies is a national commercial real estate developer focused on the redevelopment and repositioning of complex office, retail, and mixed-use properties. With projects such as the CNN Headquarters and the Geffen Playhouse, the firm’s work required a brand identity that could reflect the rigor and intelligence of its approach.
As the company expanded, its existing brand no longer reflected the scale of its work or the discipline behind its process. The challenge was to create an identity that could unify multiple business lines and audiences, from tenants and partners to investors, supported by a clear brand strategy while avoiding the generic language common in the category.
The identity is built on structure. The mark is derived from an architectural grid, establishing a framework that reflects planning, coordination, and precision. The grid extends beyond the logo, organizing the broader visual system and supporting flexibility across applications.
A saturated color palette introduces contrast and adaptability, allowing the identity to respond to a range of project types while maintaining cohesion. Geometric typography reinforces clarity and legibility, ensuring consistency across print and digital environments.
The system translates across signage, marketing materials, and digital platforms, extending into broader placemaking applications and maintaining a consistent presence regardless of scale or context.
A redesigned website design and development platform completes the system, organizing Hileman’s portfolio through an image-forward structure that presents the work with clarity and impact. The result is a digital experience aligned with the firm’s methodical and disciplined approach.
